Mechanical Fitter

WASS is always on the lookout for safety conscious and experienced Mechanical Fitters, Fitters & Turners/Machinists, Light & Heavy Duty Mechanics. The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment as directed.

Selection Criteria:

• A recognised Australian Trade qualification
• Working at Heights ticket
• Confined Space ticket
• Gas Test Atmospheres ticket
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience in mechanical shutdowns
• Proven experience working with balanced machines (stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders)
• Rights to work in Australia
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and a drug & alcohol assessment
• Proven safety and quality focus 
• Current Drivers Licence (HR licence highly regarded)
